TrigammonX includes a legal-move highlighting system designed to make gameplay easier to understand, especially for players learning the game. When you select a checker during your turn, the game can display coloured indicators showing available legal destinations.
Legal-move highlights are visual indicators that appear on the game board to help you identify where a selected checker can legally move.
These indicators may appear as coloured rings around permitted destination points. The highlights are based on:
- Your current dice roll.
- The checker you've selected.
- The positions of other checkers.
- Blocked and available points.
- The game's movement rules.
TrigammonX uses player-coloured highlighting to make legal destinations easier to recognise.
For example:- Blue player: Blue move indicators.
- Red player: Red move indicators.
- Green player: Green move indicators.
The exact appearance may vary depending on your selected settings and game version.
During your turn:
- Roll your dice.
- Select a checker you want to move.
- Look for the highlighted destination points.
- Choose a legal destination or drag your checker to it.
- Continue playing your remaining dice.
TrigammonX also supports combined-move assistance in versions where the feature is available. A combined move allows you to see a destination that may be reached by using more than one die with the same checker. For example, suppose you roll 2, 3, and 5.
Depending on the position, a checker might be able to move:- 2 points using the first die.
- Another 3 points using the second die.
- Another 5 points using the third die.
Important: A combined move does not allow you to ignore blocked points or make illegal intermediate moves. Each underlying die movement must be legal.
Where supported, TrigammonX provides a setting to enable or disable combined-move assistance.
Some players prefer to see all available movement possibilities, while experienced players may prefer a simpler board display. You can experiment with the available settings to find the experience that suits you.
If legal-move indicators aren't appearing, check the following:
- Make sure it's your turn.
- Confirm you've rolled the dice.
- Select a checker belonging to the active player.
- Check that legal-move highlighting is enabled in your settings.
- Remember that a checker may have no legal moves if its destinations are blocked.
- If you have checkers on the bar, you may need to re-enter those first.
Important: Be cautious about refreshing if you have an unfinished game and aren't sure whether its progress has been saved.
If the problem continues, please report it to TrigammonX Support.
