Made a move you didn't intend? TrigammonX includes a Take Back feature to help you correct checker movements during your turn.
Take Back is useful when learning the game, experimenting with different strategies, or correcting an accidental checker movement.

1. What Is Take Back?

Take Back allows you to reverse an eligible checker movement made during your current turn. It gives you an opportunity to reconsider a move before completing your turn.

2. How Do I Enable Take Back?

In TrigammonX, the Take Back feature may be disabled by default.

To enable it:
  1. Open TrigammonX.
  2. Find the game setting labelled Allow Reset Last Move.
  3. Switch this option ON.
  4. Follow any instructions to apply the setting.
In public beta v5.1.5, this setting is OFF by default.
The location and name of the setting may change in future versions.

3. How Do I Take Back a Move?

Once Take Back is enabled:

  1. Roll your dice.
  2. Make a legal checker movement.
  3. Locate the Take Back Last Move control under Player Actions.
  4. Select it to reverse your most recent eligible movement.
  5. Choose another legal move.
The control may appear as Take Back Last Move (Plus) in some versions.

4. Can I Undo More Than One Move?

Where supported, Take Back can be used repeatedly to reverse eligible checker movements from the current turn. Each Take Back action reverses the most recent individual dice movement rather than automatically reversing your entire turn. For example, if you've moved using three separate dice, you may need to use Take Back multiple times to return to an earlier position.

5. What About Combined Moves?

Some TrigammonX versions provide combined-move assistance.

A combined move may represent several individual legal dice movements. When a combined move is applied, Take Back operates on the underlying individual movements, where supported. You may therefore need more than one Take Back action to reverse the entire sequence.

6. Can I Undo a Move After My Turn Ends?

Take Back is intended for correcting movements during your current turn. Once your turn is complete and play has advanced to another player, you should not expect to reverse movements from the previous turn.

7. Does Take Back Give Me Another Dice Roll?

No.

Take Back does not generate a new random dice roll.

Instead, it is intended to restore the previous eligible checker position and make the corresponding dice movement available again.

8. Why Isn't Take Back Working?

If you cannot reverse a movement, check the following:

  • Allow Reset Last Move is enabled.
  • You are still on your current turn.
  • You have already made an eligible checker movement.
  • Your turn has not been completed.
  • The Take Back control is available in your current game version and mode.
Some options may differ depending on your TrigammonX version.
