How do player profiles work in TrigammonX?

 

Make TrigammonX your own with player profiles and personalised settings!
TrigammonX includes local player profile features that help you personalise your gaming experience. We're also developing an online account system for future releases.

1. What Is a Player Profile? 

A player profile represents a player within TrigammonX. Depending on the game version, profiles can include information such as:

• Player display name.
• Preferred checker colour.
• Board and display preferences.
• Gameplay settings.

Profiles make it easier to recognise players and personalise how the game looks and feels.

2. Can I Play Without Creating a Profile? 

Yes!

TrigammonX supports guest play, so you can enjoy the game without creating an online account. Simply choose the available guest option and start playing.

3. How Do I Create a Local Profile? 

In versions supporting saved local profiles:

1. Open TrigammonX.
2. Locate the Profiles or player setup section.
3. Choose Create Profile.
4. Enter your preferred display name.
5. Select any available personalisation options.
6. Save your profile.

You can then select your saved profile when setting up a game.
The exact controls may differ depending on your game version.

4. What's the Difference Between a Profile and an Account? 

A player profile stores or represents preferences for an individual player. An online account is intended to provide access to connected services, such as cloud storage and account-based features. Currently, guest and local profile options allow you to play without requiring an online account. Our future account system is being designed to offer additional features as they become available.

5. Can I Have More Than One Profile? 

Profile availability and limits depend on the version and account features offered. Our planned online membership structure includes:

• Free accounts: One player profile.
• Pro accounts: Up to five player profiles.

These are planned membership limits, not a guarantee that online memberships are already available.

6. Are There Rules for Display Names? 

TrigammonX display names are intended to be friendly, appropriate, and easy to recognise. Our planned online account system uses display names between 3 and 24 characters. Names that impersonate official TrigammonX accounts, contain inappropriate language, or use reserved names may be restricted. These online naming rules may differ from those currently applied to local profiles.

7. Will My Profile Work on Another Device? 

Locally saved profiles generally remain associated with the browser or device where they were created.

They are not automatically synchronised between devices.
Cloud-based profiles and synchronisation are planned for future development.
Important: Clearing your browser's stored website data may remove locally saved profiles and preferences.

8. What About Achievements and Statistics? 

TrigammonX is developing a broader player experience that includes achievements, statistics, personalisation, and integration with TrigammonX Academy. Some of these features may become associated with online player profiles when the account system is introduced. Availability will depend on the game version and membership features.
